The HMS constructional system - HMS panels
Our innovative HMS "crosswise-glued laminated" concept
The HMS Bausysteme components are part of the last generation of solid wood panels of large dimensions made up of several crossed layers.
These H.M.S. Bausysteme panels are based on the so-called "crosswise-glued laminated" concept: this is an innovative concept, combining freedom of design and speedy implementation. These panels are manufactured from strips of spruce timber:
- from European forests;
- Artificially dried;
- Graded;
- Glued and stapled in at least three crossed layers.
Immense architectural freedom
This innovative system means that walls, floors and roofing can be built in record time.
The maximum dimensions of the panels are 18 metres long by 4 metres wide. However, for practical and economic reasons, it is advisable to stay within the dimensions of a standard transport lorry (38T), because of road width.
Once the architectural plans have been made, they are translated into cutting plans and sent to a digitally controlled machine in charge of cutting the panels according to the set technical specifications: panel dimensions, rabbets, openings left for doors, windows, electric wiring, shafts...
It's also worth noting that, unlike other construction companies, HMS will not charge you any extra for pre-cutting for doors, windows, electric wiring etc., all of which is actually included in the asking price offered by HMS Bausysteme!
This flexibility of use gives you an enormous amount of freedom in the architectural decisions for your project. The components are then ready to be delivered on site and assembled according to a pre-defined plan.
Unique properties for optimum comfort
Seasoned wood is used during construction, this being the best way to preserve it; it has perfect dimensional stability, even when there are changes in humidity. Dried out to 12% (+/-2%), our timber provides a comfortable, healthy environment for people living in the house; it has not been treated either, nor does it need to be.
From the energy point of view, our wooden panels reach thermal insulation rates far higher than those of a so-called "standard" house. Thermal conductivity is 0.13W/mK. The airtight wall, combined with external insulation, provides a higher thermal storage capacity.
Through its multi cross-layer construction, the panel does not suffer any compaction; it is perfectly braced.
...for a perfectly controlled price
All these features are extra advantages which mean we can keep the final building costs under perfect control. They also make the finishing work easier to carry out for the providing companies as it has been prepared for.
